Name: Stephanie Marie Gender: Female
Interests: I'm pretty passionate about life in any of its stages and all of its senses. I'm interested in figuring out what/how my own life is going to turn out. People who show intelligence, compassion, humility, and honesty interest me. It used to be that you could find me in the woods near my favorite creek, but now that I've moved to a concrete and brick paradise...you can usually find me in my apartment...or at friends' apartments. Expertise: I doubt I'm an expert, but I spend a lot of time writing. reading. being a bit melodramatic at times. listening. being a friend. jumping in puddles. surviving. seeing the magnificence of everyday life. loving. engaging in good conversation. pondering... | I'm just sitting here at home feeling like crap. I am home from work with a really sore throat and a face that won't stop hurting. My sinuses are going crazy again...sad. And I have a headache. Okay. Boo hoo. Suck it up girl. No one wants to hear you complain during flu season.
So, Forrest has more faith in the obnoxious little Neon than I do. He explained to me last night that we'd feel stupid if we didn't at least try to get it fixed. "What if it's a $30 fix and we instead bought a whole new car?" Good point...still...Lucy....tear. I am smart enough to recognize my impulsive side when it's about to get the best of me though, so I listened.
With Forrie following closely behind me in the Saturn, I got the car started up and took back roads out to Bernie's auto shop and left him the car and a note saying to take a look and see if it could be salvaged to at least get us through the winter. I can't help it. Having grown up in an 800 person country town I just don't trust city auto shops. I like places that know my name and my car. I like my cars to be looked at by small town mechanics who fix cars for a living and also for fun in their free time.
...
Wow. Atticus is going crazy. It's like Christmas for him when I'm home from work. He races around the apartment like he's on speed. He keeps trying to get my attention by biting my ankles and then racing over and sitting on his favorite toy, that favorite toy being a piece of wire with little bits of cardboard attached. It's ridiculous really. It's like his own brand of heroine.

| My sassy little auto has finally bit the dust. No more almond colored neon.
Sad.
Now I'm having to go through the delightful process of buying a new car. Thank goodness we have Forrest's car or we'd really be in trouble.
Really...when it rains it pours, doesn't it? That little neon already wiped out most of my savings this past summer when it died three times in a row (one time spewing orange colored liquid all over a Blockbuster's parking lot - now that one confused my auto shop!) and now it's trying to do it again. I refuse to put more money into that little beast though. It was a great car for the 5ish years that I've had it, but this year it is determined to die on me and I guess I just have to let it.
Here is the new friend that I'm thinking about purchasing:
I think I'll name her Lucy.
But she'll have to be happy with having a Corpse Bride decal on her back, because that is so happening...

| Autumn inevitably finds me focusing on change and renewal. Forrest and I moved to a new apartment in our city in July and although I have fallen in love with the little place, I didn't know just how much until the trees outside our windows started turning their brilliant yellow and red hues this season. Simply breathtaking...a scene only marred by that ugly poodle that a man in the building across the lawn from ours owns. I love dogs, but I'm usually not a fan of mean show dogs. Sassy little thing.
Our cat, Atticus Fincheater, has settled in nicely as well. He is especially fond of cat-calling the lovely feline who spends many an afternoon on the deck below ours. Such a hot little thing she is...
I'm busy, as usual. You'd think that one of these years I would learn to stop adding more to the plate, but that just hasn't happened yet.
I'm teaching myself to knit...so far I've only gotten half of a scarf done. It's a start.
That's all for now, folks!
